Almost all firms and individuals carrying out financial services activities in the UK have to be authorised or registered by us. This firm is not authorised or registered by us but has been targeting people in the UK, claiming to be an authorised firm.

This is what we call a 'clone firm'; and fraudsters usually use this tactic when contacting people out of the blue, so you should be especially wary if you have been cold called. They may use the name of the genuine firm, the 'firm reference number' (FRN) we have given the authorised firm or other details.

Other Information: The following USA registered company has informed us that they have no association whatsoever with the organisation discussed above identifying itself as WindRiver Capital %F4%80%82%83 WindRiver Capital LLC (CRD Number: 46284; SEC Number: 8-51365) 5033 Riverpark Way; Provo; UT 84604 It appears that an unauthorised entity is playing upon the likeness of its name to the above US registered company so as to confuse unsuspecting prospective investors. It has been confirmed by the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) in the United States; that Windriver Capital LLC has NOT been contacting non-US investors about swapping their non-performing shares or removing restrictions from them. Further; the genuine WindRiver Capital LLC HAS NO RETAIL CUSTOMERS OR WEBSITE.

Be aware that scammers may give out other false details or mix these with some correct details of the registered firm. They may change contact details over time to new email addresses, telephone numbers or physical addresses.
